E-Tourneo Custom
Overview
The Ford E-Tourneo Custom represents Ford's flagship electric MPV, bringing zero-emission capability to the executive shuttle and large-family transport sector. Utilizing a new dedicated platform shared with the award-winning E-Transit Custom commercial range, this electric passenger van abandons most commercial vehicle compromises for car-like refinement. Positioned directly against established electric people-movers like the Volkswagen ID. Buzz and Kia PV5 Passenger, the E-Tourneo Custom targets both private buyers needing vast interior volume and commercial operators seeking lower running costs. Offered in standard (L1) and extended (L2) wheelbase configurations, it serves as a critical bridge between commercial utility and passenger transport.
Design
Exterior styling takes a dramatic leap forward from its predecessors, adopting Ford's modern design language to halt its commercial van origins. The front is dominated by a distinctive full-width LED light bar that connects sleek matrix headlights, framing a unique
bold parametric grille pattern. Sculpted sides and an aerodynamic floor pan improves efficiency, while the lowered overall height under two metres ensures full access to multi-storey car parks. Buyers can choose from various trims, ranging from the rugged body-cladding of the Active model to the aggressive bodykit, lowered stance, and 19-inch alloy wheels of the MS-RT trim. Twin sliding side doors come as standard, with optional hands-free power operation for easier entry.
Interior
The cabin elevates passenger comfort with premium materials and a high-level of digital integration. Drivers are greeted by a 13-inch Sync-4 touchscreen angled toward the driver, paired with a digital instrument cluster. A standout ergonomic feature is the optional tilting steering wheel that folds completely flat to create an office desk or eating table. Material quality feels durable yet upscale, featuring soft-touch plastics, an optional Bang & Olufsen audio system, and an expansive panoramic glass roof. Independent rear climate controls and USB-C ports for all rows ensure high levels of connectivity and comfort throughout the cabin.

Performance & Powertrains
Power comes from an electric motor delivering 215 bhp and 415 Nm of instant torque, driving the rear wheels. Power is supplied by a liquid-cooled battery with a 71 kWh capacity. This setup provides a driving range of up to 210 miles, making it suitable for regional shuttle runs and some long-distance cruising. Charging capabilities include DC fast charging at up to 125 kW, completing a 10 to 80% charge in around 39 minutes. Additionally, Ford's Pro Power Onboard technology provides 2.3 kW sockets in the cabin to power external appliances and electronic devices directly from the main battery. On the road, the independent rear suspension setup delivers smooth ride quality and composure superior to leaf-sprung rivals.
Practicality
Space efficiency remains the core strength of the E-Tourneo Custom, offering flexible seating configurations for up to 8 passengers in a 3-row layout. A key highlight is the track-mounted rear seating, allowing the second and third rows to slide independently, recline, or be arranged in a conference-style seating layout. Each individual seat can also be folded or completely removed to maximize cargo space. Step-in height is reduced thanks to the updated platform architecture, improving passenger access. Storage options feature overhead consoles, deep door bins, and multiple gloveboxes.
Buying
Pricing for the all-electric E-Tourneo Custom starts from £57,083 for the entry-level Trend trim. The lineup spans through Titanium, rugged Active, and range-topping Titanium X trims, culminating in the sport-themed MS-RT edition. Standard equipment on base trims includes the 13-inch infotainment system, digital driver display, keyless entry, and comprehensive driver assistance features. Higher trim levels add luxury amenities such as synthetic leather upholstery, tri-zone climate control, power side doors, and matrix LED lighting. The EV Hub recommended configuration is the E-Tourneo Custom Titanium L1. It offers the best blend of value and specification, providing enhanced interior trim, heated seats, and advanced safety tech without the price premium of the top-tier trims.
