Overview
The Skoda Vision O concept offers a clear design and technology roadmap for the Czech brand's next generation of estate cars. Unveiled as an antidote to the market's saturation of heavy electric crossovers, the concept signals Skoda's commitment to traditional long-roof practicality in this electrified era. It serves as a direct preview of what will eventually become the production Octavia EV before the end of the decade. Built with an emphasis on aerodynamic efficiency, light-filled interior space, and environmental circularity, the Vision O balances futuristic show-car aesthetics with genuine real-world usability.

Design & Interior
The exterior of the Vision O represents an evolution of Skoda's Modern Solid design language, adopting a low, sculpted silhouette that trades boxy wagon angles for a sleeker profile. At the front, the traditional front grille is replaced by the Tech Deck, an illuminated structural band spanning the front end that houses concealed LED lighting elements. Clean side surfacing is complemented by camera side mirrors, flush door handles, and a bi-colour roof line. At the rear, distinct T-shaped LED light clusters are joined by an illuminated lower light strip and branded Skoda lettering.
Inside, the cabin takes inspiration from modern Scandinavian architecture, prioritising light, minimalism, and physical tactile controls. Removing the central B-pillar reveals a wide opening into a light-filled interior, aided by a panoramic glass roof. A 1.2-metre-wide Horizon Display rests high along the dashboard beneath the windscreen, complimented by a central portrait touchscreen on the dashboard. Physical rotary dials remain on the center console for primary functions like climate control and volume. Material choices emphasise circularity, featuring recycled textiles, eco-conscious leather trims made from repurposed fashion industry offcuts, and 3D-printed lattice headrests.

Other Technical Specifications
While specific motor outputs and battery capacities for the Vision O concept remain under wraps, the underlying vehicle architecture reveals key details about its engineering trajectory. The concept acts as a testbed for Volkswagen Group's Scalable Systems Platform. This dedicated EV architecture is engineered to support 800V charging infrastructure, enabling ultra-fast DC fast-charging capable of 10 to 80% in around 12 to 15 minutes. Vehicles built on this platform are targeted to exceed the maximum range currently offered by existing MEB-platform models like the Enyaq. The chassis features a low-slung floor layout that keeps the overall vehicle height at 1,500 mm while maintaining a wide 1,900 mm stance and a 4,850 mm overall length.
Production Plans
The Vision O is slated to transition into a production model targeting a market launch between 2028 and 2030. When it reaches showrooms, it is expected to serve as the direct replacement for the long-running Octavia Estate, bringing an all-electric alternative to traditional diesel and petrol tourers. Production versions will tone down specific concept elements; the pillarless construction and rear-hinged doors will be replaced by a standard B-pillar setup for better safety, and standard lighting will replace the retractable elements. However, the overall vehicle proportions, the 650-litre boot capacity, the Modern Solid aesthetic, and the wide-format dashboard display architecture will carry over directly into the road-going vehicle. Pricing for the final production model is estimated to start around £35,000.
