Overview
The 3rd-gen Nissan Juke transitions the popular subcompact crossover into an all-electric vehicle. Built at Nissan's Sunderland plant in the UK, the upcoming Juke EV is positioned as an agile, urban-focused B-SUV intended to sit beneath the Ariya and alongside the Leaf. It targets popular electric crossovers such as the Jeep Avenger EV, Volvo EX30, and Kia EV3.
Design
Taking heavy inspiration from Nissan's Hyper Punk concept, the Juke EV retains the model's signature quirky and aggressive presence while embracing a futuristic design. The exterior features sharp geometric surfacing, angular body panels, and a distinctive coupe-like roofline. Front and rear lighting signatures are completely reworked with intricate LED graphics, complemented by flush door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheel designs to maximize efficiency.
Interior
The cabin is centered around a digital-first dashboard layout featuring twin 12.3-inch displays for the driver instrument cluster and central infotainment system. The interior utilizes sustainable fabrics across higher trim tiers, alongside integrated ambient lighting and premium tech options such as a Bose audio system with headrest speakers. The lack of a physical gear selector frees up center console space for wireless phone charging pads and modular storage trays.
Performance & Powertrains
Underpinned by a dedicated modular EV platform, the Juke EV will be offered primarily in single-motor, FWD configurations. Battery options are expected to offer capacities providing estimated ranges between 250 and 280 miles on a full charge. DC fast-charging speeds will enable a 10 to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes, while integrated Vehicle-to-Grid technology allows energy to be fed back into home energy systems or the power grid.
Practicality
By utilizing a flat electric platform, the Juke EV improves significantly on rear passenger knee room and footwell space compared to its internal combustion predecessors. The boot capacity is expected to exceed 400 litres with rear seats in place, complemented by a low loading lip, underfloor cable storage compartments, and 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks for bulky cargo.
Buying
The Nissan Juke EV is scheduled for release in spring 2027. Starting prices are projected to begin at around £28,000 for base specifications, rising to approximately £35,000 for range-topping trims. Trim levels are expected to mirror Nissan's traditional structure with varying tech and styling packs.
