Overview
The Volvo EX60 enters the mid-sized premium electric SUV segment as the direct replacement for the hugely popular XC60, targeting formidable rivals like the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric. Built on Volvo's brand-new SPA3 platform, it represents a complete clean-sheet design that features advanced structural integration, a native 800V architecture, and high-performance computing. Positioned right at the heart of Volvo's electric offering, the EX60 acts as a crucial volume seller, balancing family versatility, long-distance touring capability, and Swedish luxury with cutting-edge software integration.
Design
The EX60 showcases an evolution of the Scandinavian design language introduced on the larger EX90. Up front, it features a smooth, fully enclosed shield grille flanked by the signature Thor's Hammer Matrix LED headlights, which feature split-opening elements. The side silhouette is sleek and aerodynamic, defined by Wing Grip door handles, clean body surfacing, and sculpted lower sills that hide the underfloor battery casing. The roofline tapers gently toward the rear to optimize efficiency, ending at a subtle roof spoiler. At the rear, traditional Volvo vertical taillights are modernized into segmented, full-width LED light bars that play animated welcome sequences on approach.
Interior
Inside, the cabin embraces a minimalist, Scandinavian living room aesthetic constructed from sustainable, tactile materials including tailored wool blends and Nordico bio-attributed synthetics. The focal point of the dashboard is a portrait-oriented 15-inch central touchscreen powered by a next-generation Android Automotive OS with native Google Gemini integration. Physical controls are kept to a minimum, with most vehicle functions integrated into the responsive touchscreen. Driver information is displayed on a HD digital instrument cluster alongside an augmented-reality head-up display. Sound insulation is exceptional, with higher-spec models featuring a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system with headrest-integrated speakers.

Performance & Powertrains
The EX60 lineup is split across three distinct powertrains operating on an advanced 800V electrical architecture. The entry-level P6 utilizes a single rear-mounted electric motor delivering 369 hp and 480 Nm of torque, pairing with an 83 kWh battery achieving 385 miles of range and a 0-62 mph time of 5.9 seconds. Stepping up to the dual-motor P10 AWD brings 503 hp, 790 Nm of torque, and a 93 kWh battery, dropping the 0-62 mph time to 4.6 seconds while expanding the range to 410 miles. The flagship P12 AWD features a massive 117 kWh battery and dual motors pushing out 671 hp, yielding a 3.9-second 0-62 mph sprint and an extraordinary range of up to 503 miles. DC rapid charging is ultra-fast across the range. Peak speeds reach up to 320 kW on the P6 and 370 kW on the P10 and P12, allowing for a 10-80% recharge in just 16 to 19 minutes.
Practicality
Thanks to the bespoke EV platform, the EX60 maximizes cabin space relative to its exterior footprint. Rear passenger legroom and headroom are class-leading, with a completely flat cabin floor ensuring comfortable seating for three adults across the bench. Rear boot capacity stands at a generous 523 litres with the seats in place, expanding to nearly 1,000 litres with the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats folded flat. There is a dedicated underfloor compartment, while a small frunk offers additional storage for smaller items.
Buying
Prices for the Volvo EX60 start at £56,860 for the entry-level P6 RWD in Plus trim, rising to £62,360 for the P6 Ultra. The mid-tier P10 AWD starts from £59,860 in Plus trim and £65,360 in Ultra trim. The range-topping P12 AWD carries a starting price of £64,860 for the Plus and tops out at £70,360 for the fully equipped Ultra variant. Upgrading to Ultra adds 21-inch wheels, HD Pixel LED headlights, an electrochromic dimming panoramic roof, and the Bowers & Wilkins sound system. The EV Hub recommended configuration is the P12 AWD in Plus trim. It provides the ideal mix of AWD performance, a rapid 3.9-second acceleration time, an industry-leading 503-mile range, and 370 kW rapid charging without the added premium of the Ultra trim.
