Overview

The Peugeot e-208 sits as a stylish, premium option in the competitive electric supermini sector. Built on the Stellantis CMP platform, it acts as a direct electric counterpart to the petrol 208, giving drivers a familiar hatch layout with zero emissions. It targets urban drivers and small families who want a high-tech cabin and strong efficiency in a compact footprint. It goes head-to-head with models like the MINI Cooper Electric, MG4 EV Urban, and Fiat Grande Panda Electric.

Design

Peugeot gives the e-208 a sharp aesthetic defined by its three-claw LED daytime running lights embedded into the front bumper. The grille features body-coloured elements that blend into the bodywork, creating a seamless look. Gloss black wheel arches house dynamic alloy wheel designs, while the rear styling pays homage to classic Peugeot hatchbacks with a gloss black tailgate strip linking the claw-effect LED rear lights. Subtle blue badge accents mark its electric identity.

Interior

Inside, the cabin features the Peugeot i-Cockpit layout, which pairs a compact, low-set steering wheel with an elevated digital instrument cluster. Top-tier trims upgrade this display to a 3D digital unit, complementing a central 10-inch touchscreen tilted toward the driver. Material quality feels upmarket with soft-touch plastics, carbon-effect trim inserts, and piano-key toggle switches for essential functions.

Performance & Powertrains

The e-208 offers two electric powertrain configurations. The 100 kW motor features a 50 kWh battery producing 260 Nm of torque. It covers up to 226 miles and reaches 0-62 mph in roughly 8.1 seconds. The more efficient 115 kW motor features an upgraded 51 kWh battery. This variant delivers up to 268 miles of range while completing 0-62 mph in 8.2 seconds. Both models feature a maximum DC rapid charging rate of 100 kW, taking the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes. A heat pump is included to preserve winter range performance.

Practicality

Boot capacity stands at 309 litres with the rear seats upright, matching the ICE versions and expanding to 1,118 litres with the 60/40 split-folding rear seats down. Cabin storage includes deep door bins, a central armrest compartment, and a dedicated smartphone slot with wireless charging on select trims. Up front, space is comfortable for most adults, though footwell space is slightly tight. Rear legroom and headroom remain on the tighter side for taller passengers, making the rear row best suited for kids or shorter trips.

Buying

The Peugeot e-208 lineup starts from £24,995 for the entry-level Allure trim, rising to £34,995 for top-spec variants. Trim options primarily span Allure and GT configurations, with additional package options available. The EV Hub Recommended Configuration is the Allure 51 kWh as it offers the best overall value. For a small price premium over the base setup, it grants the newer motor and battery architecture, boosting efficiency and stretching the range to 268 miles without forcing a jump to the top GT price point.
