Overview
The Kia PV7 Passenger is an electric MPV positioned as the larger sibling to the award-winning PV5. Designed to target spacious commercial people-moving, airport shuttle duties, and large family transport, it enters the market as a formidable rival to established large electric people movers and medium vans converted for passenger use. Built on Kia's dedicated Platform Beyond Vehicle architecture, the PV7 combines massive interior volume with advanced electric vehicle technology. Market competitors include the Ford E-Tourneo Custom, and Volkswagen ID. Buzz long-wheelbase models. It aims to redefine utility and passenger comfort through clever packaging and high-end connectivity.
Design
The exterior styling of the Kia PV7 follows a functional yet modern design language focused on maximizing internal volume while retaining a confident, road-presence stance. Characterised by clean architectural lines, a boxy silhouette optimised for spatial efficiency, and distinctive geometric daytime running lights, the front end projects a futuristic persona. Short overhangs and a long wheelbase ensure maximum cabin space, while sliding side doors provide effortless passenger access in tight urban environments. The rear features a choice of dual barn doors or a traditional lifting tailgate, wrapped cleanly into a vertical profile that emphasizes stability and maximum functional utility without sacrificing aesthetic appeal.
Interior
Inside, the cabin of the PV7 Passenger shifts away from commercial roots toward a plush, highly ergonomic environment. The dashboard features soft materials, stylish ambient lighting, and Kia's advanced Pleos Connect infotainment system run on either a 12.9-inch or a 14.6-inch central touchscreen. Cabin technology supports natural voice controls via Gleo AI which will improve over time with over-the-air updates. Ergonomics are prioritized with a flat floor enabling easy movement between rows, generous headroom, and a driving position that feels commanding and car-like. Hard-wearing yet premium materials are used throughout to withstand heavy usage while maintaining comfort.

Performance & Powertrains
Underpinned by the flexible 800V E-GMP.S dedicated electric platform, the PV7 is equipped with a front-mounted single electric motor delivering up to 200 kW and 420 Nm of torque, with an AWD dual-motor variant planned for future production. Buyers can select between a 71kWh standard battery and a larger 96kWh Long Range pack. The larger unit achieves a range of up to 286 miles on a single charge. Thanks to its native 800V architecture, the PV7 supports ultra-fast 350 kW DC rapid charging, topping up from 10-80% in roughly 25 minutes. Furthermore, Vehicle-to-Load charging allows the van to power external tools and equipment. To accommodate high payloads, Kia includes a specialized heavy-load driving mode that alters throttle mapping and regenerative braking strength.
Practicality
Practicality is the core strength of the PV7 Passenger, offering highly flexible seating configurations across spacious layouts. Different variants accommodate either 7 or 9 occupants, with the 7-seat model featuring long-rail easy-remove seats that can convert the interior space into a cargo-hauling setup on demand. There is abundant storage scattered throughout the cabin, and the generous vehicle length ensures that even with all seating rows occupied, there remains enough room for luggage, making it exceptionally well-suited for group travelling and commercial shuttle operations.
Buying
Official pricing and exact trim specifications for the Kia PV7 have not yet been released, but Passenger models are expected to start around £40,000 to £50,000 to aggressively position against established medium van rivals. The PV7 Passenger model is scheduled to officially roll out across markets during the second half of 2027. The wider range will eventually expand into 23 distinct variants, including specialized chassis cab derivatives, tippers, and factory-backed conversion options.
