Overview
The Fiat 600e marks a significant expansion of the Italian brand's electric vehicle lineup, effectively positioning itself as a larger, five-door sibling to the 500e city car. Built on the shared Stellantis Common Modular Platform, which it shares with models like the Jeep Avenger, the 600e sits in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. It blends retro styling cues with a modern electric drivetrain, offering a practical alternative for buyers who love the characterful aesthetic of smaller Fiat models but require the everyday utility of a family crossover.
Design
The exterior of the Fiat 600e relies heavily on the retro-inspired design language popularized by the 500 family, scaled up into a larger crossover silhouette. Up front, it features the distinctive semi-circular LED headlights that give the car a cartoonish and cheerful face, accompanied by prominent chrome '600' badges. Measuring 4.18 metres in length and standing over 1.5 metres high, its stance is complemented by matte black side skirts and wheel arches that give it a rugged SUV feel. Higher-tier configurations introduce striking 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a selection of vibrant, Italian-themed paint options that differentiate it visually from more conservative rivals.
Interior
Inside, the cabin balances quirky design choices with leftover parts from the parent company, Stellantis. The dashboard features a body-coloured rounded fascia reminiscent of classic Fiat models, topped by a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While top-spec trims enjoy light-coloured eco-leather upholstery with turquoise stitching and an integrated massage function for the driver. Lower-spec variants use darker fabrics that feel slightly more utilitarian. Physical switchgear for the climate controls sits beneath the central screen, offering straightforward ergonomics that bypass the need to toggle through digital menus. A unique, magnetic folding fabric cover protects a massive 15-litre central storage tunnel between the front seats.

Performance & Powertrains
The Fiat 600e is powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 154bhp, allowing the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 9 seconds, leading to a maximum top speed of 93mph. Energy is supplied by a 54kWh battery yielding a range of 252 miles. For charging, the vehicle features 100kW DC rapid charging, enabling a 20 to 80% top-up in 27 minutes. An 11kW AC three-phase onboard charger comes standard.
Practicality
While the 600e offers a vast improvement over the 500e. The front cabin delivers impressive headroom and a highly adjustable driving position, making it comfortable for taller occupants. The rear bench is less accommodating, providing adequate space for children or short trips but feeling cramped for taller adults due to limited legroom. Boot capacity stands at 360 litres with the rear seats raised, expanding to 1,231 litres when the 60/40 split-folding seats are flattened. This is larger than standard electric superminis but falls short of bulkier rivals in the compact SUV category. Storage throughout the cabin is enhanced by deep door bins and an adjustable trunk floor layout.
Buying
The Fiat 600e starts from £26,995 for the POP trim, rising to £29,995 for the Sport variant. The La Prima version adds safety systems like level two autonomous driving assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and a 180-degree rear parking camera. The EV Hub recommended configuration is the La Prima trim with a 1-mile longer range and very useful features like an upgraded Uconnect 10.25-inch touchscreen, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and heated front seats.
