The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric marks a defining shift for the brand's core compact executive saloon. Built on a dedicated 800V MB.EA architecture rather than a converted combustion platform, it is designed from the ground up to challenge the BMW i3 and Tesla Model 3. Combining classic executive proportions with next-generation electric technology, it cements Mercedes-Benz's position in the premium electric saloon market.
Design
Moving away from the smooth one-bow aerodynamic silhouettes of earlier EQ models, the electric C-Class returns to a classic three-box saloon profile with a gently sloping, coupe-like roofline. The front end is dominated by an iconic illuminated panel grille with star detailing that integrates seamlessly into the headlights. Flush door handles optimize aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear features a distinctive full-width light panel housing circular tail-light graphics with embedded 3-pointed stars.
Interior
Inside, the cabin is centered around modern luxury and advanced technology. Higher trim levels showcase the seamless 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen display spanning across the dashboard, powered by the new MB.OS software. Cabin materials feature Artico synthetic leather, grey wood trims, or real carbon fibre inserts depending on specification. Twin wireless charging pads, ambient lighting, an optional electrochromatic panoramic glass roof, and integrated cabin cameras for video conferencing highlight its executive focus.
Performance & Powertrains
At launch, the C 400 4MATIC dual-motor AWD powertrain delivers 489 hp and 800 Nm of torque, enabling 0-62 mph acceleration in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph. Powered by a 94kWh battery, the electric C-Class achieves a range of up to 452 miles. Its 800V architecture supports ultra-fast DC charging speeds of up to 330 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% recharge in 22 minutes or replenishing up to 200 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Ride comfort and agility are elevated by optional adaptive air suspension and rear-axle steering.
Practicality
Thanks to a long 2,962 mm wheelbase, interior legroom and passenger comfort are substantially improved over traditional combustion-engine saloons. Boot space measures 470 litres, supplemented by a generous 101-litre frunk under the bonnet for charging cables and smaller luggage. Practicality is further enhanced by 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats and ample cabin storage compartments.

Pricing for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric starts from £57,995 for the entry Sport trim. The lineup progresses through AMG Line at £60,995, AMG Line Premium at £65,995, AMG Line Premium Plus at £68,495, and the range-topping Premier Edition at £70,995.
