Design
The exterior of the ID.7 features a low-slung front end, crisp character lines, and a smooth sweeping roofline that tapers into a sawn-off Kamm-style rear, the fastback achieves a remarkably low drag coefficient of 0.23. Full-width LED light bars front and rear, alongside optional IQ.Light Matrix LED headlights, provide a clean visual signature, while wheel options range from standard 19-inch aerodynamic alloys to 20-inch items on sportier trims.
Interior
Inside the cabin, Volkswagen has significantly elevated material standards, utilizing soft-touch surfaces, suede door inserts, and perforated eco-microfleece seating. Upgrading to the Pro S Match introduces an 86kWh usable battery, elevating the range up to an impressive 440 miles while maintaining a 0 to 62 mph time of 6.7 seconds. The range-topping GTX variant adds a front axle motor for AWD, boosting total output to 340 PS and cutting the 0 to 62 mph sprint to 5.4 seconds. Maximum DC fast-charging speeds reach 175 kW for the 77kWh pack and up to 200 kW for the 86kWh pack, enabling a 10 to 80% top-up in approximately 28 minutes. On the road, the ID.7 prioritizes serene high-speed stability and exceptional bump absorption, enhanced further by optional DCC adaptive chassis control.
Practicality
Thanks to a generous 2,971 mm wheelbase, passenger accommodation in the ID.7 is exceptionally expansive, providing limousine-like rear legroom exceeding one metre. Headroom is equally generous across both rows, even with the optional panoramic glass roof fitted. The fastback saloon offers a wide-opening liftback hatch revealing a 532-litre boot, expanding to 1,586 litres with the 60/40 split rear seats folded.
