Overview
The Audi RS e-tron GT positions itself at the absolute pinnacle of Audi's electric vehicle lineup, with the role of a flagship high-performance four-door grand tourer. Updated to deliver enhanced performance and competitive grand touring capabilities, it competes directly with premier luxury electric vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. It aims to bridge the gap between extreme supercar-slaying acceleration and effortless, long-distance luxury cruising, embodying a mature yet incredibly potent alternative in the premium electric saloon market.
Design
Exhibiting an athletic and low-slung stance, the vehicle retains the dramatic, muscular proportions of a classic grand tourer while integrating contemporary Audi EV design. The front features a redesigned, embossed 3D honeycomb grille structure complemented by aggressive L-shaped air intake inserts that set the RS variant apart from standard models. The wide, muscular rear arches flow into a coupe-like roofline, into a new rear diffuser with the e-tron GT's signature light bar at the back. Standard equipment includes advanced Matrix LED headlights, while unique aerodynamically optimised 21-inch alloy wheels work alongside active airflow elements to actively reduce aerodynamic drag.
Interior
The cabin blends a driver-centric sports car layout with the typical premium refinement expected of a flagship luxury vehicle. A standard 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster handles driving data, while a 10.1-inch central touchscreen controls infotainment functions, crucially retaining physical buttons below for vital heating and ventilation controls. Tactile premium sports seats feature 18-way power adjustment and memory functions, upholstered in leather-free or partially recycled high-quality materials with optional contrast stitching. Gloss black trim accents the dashboard, though the surfaces do need some work to stay free of fingerprints and dust.

Performance & Powertrains
Propulsion comes from an updated dual-motor, AWD quattro system with a unique two-speed automatic transmission on the rear axle to balance explosive off-the-line acceleration with high-speed cruising efficiency. The standard RS variant produces 530kW, achieving the 0-62 mph sprint in 2.8 seconds with launch control, while the range-topping RS Performance model develops a staggering 748kW to complete the same sprint in 2.5 seconds with launch control. Both versions utilise a revised 105 kWh battery that supports an improved range of up to 365 miles for the standard RS and up to 364 miles for the RS Performance. Built on a sophisticated 800-volt electrical architecture, maximum DC rapid charging capabilities peak at 320 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge replenishment in approximately 18 minutes. An innovative active air suspension system comes standard, individually managing each corner of the vehicle to counteract body lean through corners while delivering a remarkably compliant and supple ride over road imperfections.
Practicality
Despite its aggressive supercar-like stance, the vehicle provides realistic everyday usability via its four-door fastback layout. The long wheelbase accommodates comfortable legroom for adult passengers, although the tapering roofline does restrict rear-seat headroom for taller individuals, making the rear cabin best suited for 2 occupants rather than 3. Luggage space is divided between a 350-litre rear boot, which provides adequate room for suitcases, and a useful 77-litre frunk which is ideal for storing charging cables. Small-item storage throughout the cabin is well-considered, featuring usable door pockets, a central console storage cubby, and rear cup holders.
Buying
Pricing for the updated model line reflects its premium flagship positioning, with the standard Audi RS e-tron GT starting from £126,425 on-the-road. Choosing the higher-specification Carbon Vorsprung or the ultimate RS Performance variants pushes costs significantly higher, though all versions come comprehensively equipped with adaptive air suspension, advanced driver aids, and high-performance tungsten-carbide-coated brakes. The EV Hub recommended configuration is the RS e-tron GT Performance with the Carbon Vorsprung trim coming standard. This delivers the maximum performance and all the features from Carbon Vorsprung package.
