Specifically engineered, designed, and manufactured in Europe for the European market, this compact B-segment crossover stands as a crucial pillar for Stellantis. Utilising the familiar e-CMP2 platform shared with siblings like the Peugeot e-2008 and Vauxhall Mokka Electric, the Avenger carves out its own distinct identity. It successfully combines urban-friendly proportions with a chunkier, adventure-ready stance that differentiates it from more boring competitors, making it a compelling entry into the mainstream EV market.
Design
True to its heritage, the Avenger proudly displays iconic Jeep styling cleverly adapted for the electric era. The signature seven-slot grille is fully enclosed to improve aerodynamic efficiency and is framed by recessed, high-set LED headlights. Ruggedness is emphasised by extensive 360-degree unpainted plastic body cladding that uses color-reinforced material to hide scratches. Squared-off wheel arches house standard alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches, while the short front and rear overhangs deliver an impressive 200mm ground clearance. The profile features a floating roof effect with a distinctive C-pillar design, culminating in rear light clusters that feature a subtle X-shaped graphic inspired by vintage military fuel cans.
Interior
Inside, the cabin breaks away from corporate Stellantis architecture with a clean, horizontal dashboard that stretches across the width of the front cabin and can be specified in vibrant body-coloured finishes. Tech is managed by a standard 10.3-inch central touchscreen running responsive software equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a 10.25-inch digital driver cluster. Ergonomics are supported by a physical row of climate control buttons positioned cleanly underneath the screen. Cabin storage is a major highlight, offering an impressive 34 litres of front storage space, including a clever central storage tunnel with a folding magnetic cover. While the design is highly functional, material quality relies heavily on hard, scratch-resistant plastics across the top of the dashboard and door cards, which feels built for durability rather than luxury.
Performance & Powertrains
The Avenger Electric uses the updated Stellantis powertrain, combining a 54kWh battery pack with a single front-mounted electric motor. This system delivers 156hp and 260Nm of torque to the front wheels, enabling a 0-62mph acceleration time of 9.6 seconds and a top speed limited to 93mph. The vehicle achieves a range of up to 248 miles. For charging, the maximum DC fast-charging speed is 100kW, allowing a 20% to 80% top-up in less than 30 minutes. Despite being FWD, standard Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control software modify the traction control parameters for Mud, Sand, and Snow conditions to provide genuine capability on loose surfaces.
Practicality
Measuring just 4.08 metres in length, the compact footprint of the Avenger ensures exceptional agility in tight city spaces, though this does place limitations on the rear cabin. Front occupants enjoy generous headroom and visibility, but rear legroom is constrained. Luggage capacity stands at 355 litres with all 5 seats in place, expanding up to 1,252 litres when the rear seats are folded down. The boot area is highly usable thanks to a squared-off aperture, an adjustable height cargo floor on Altitude models and above, and a lowered loading lip height of 720mm to make heavy lifting easier. Higher specifications also add the convenience of a hands-free power liftgate.
Buying
Pricing for the new Jeep Avenger Electric will start at approximately £32,000. Trim levels are yet to be confirmed, but the entry-level coule feature keyless start, rear parking sensors, and autonomous emergency braking. Upgrading to the mid tier brings larger 17-inch wheels, a digital instrument cluster, a 180-degree rear parking camera, and adaptive cruise control. The flagship adds 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and Level 2 autonomous driving assist. The EV Hub recommended configuration is the mid-spec trim.
