Design
Embodying Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy, the EV4 features angular aesthetics that stand out dramatically in the segment. The front end features a low nose and an evolution of the brand's electric Tiger Face, framed by striking vertical LED headlamps pushed to the outer edges of the bonnet. The athletic lines are aided by aerodynamic flush door handles and a distinctive, upright targa C-pillar trim. The rear is dominated by a sloped window and a sporty roof spoiler that optimises aerodynamic efficiency, allowing the vehicle to achieve a low drag coefficient of just 0.27Cd.
Interior
The cabin utilizes the brand's latest 30-inch ultra-wide panoramic display, which integrates a 12.3-inch digital driver instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate control screen, and a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen. The layout is modern and clutter-free, moving the gear selector to the steering column to open up central space. Standard Air models feature sustainable grey cloth textiles, while GT-Line and GT-Line S variants introduce a sportier three-spoke steering wheel, black headlining, and premium two-tone artificial leather. Top-tier trims are luxurious, adding customizable ambient lighting, a head-up display, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and premium front relaxation seats that are both heated and ventilated.

Built on a 400V version of Hyundai Group's E-GMP platform, the standard EV4 range is entirely FWD, powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous motor generating 201 bhp and 209 lb-ft of torque. This setup achieves a 0-62 mph time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 105 mph. 2 battery capacities are available. The entry-level 58kWh pack offers a range of up to 273 miles. The larger 81kWh pack delivers a class-leading range of up to 391 miles on the Air trim, dropping slightly to 362 miles on the more heavily equipped GT-Line variants. DC rapid charging peaks at 127 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% top-up in 29 to 31 minutes depending on the pack, while an 11 kW onboard AC charger handles overnight charging. For driving dynamics, the EV4 utilizes frequency-responsive dampers and hydraulic bump-stops, providing an exceptionally compliant and refined ride.
Practicality
Despite its compact 4,450 mm overall length, the EV4 boasts a massive 2,820 mm wheelbase that frees up lots of passenger space, comfortably accommodating 3 adults across the rear bench. The hatchback body offers a major real-world loading advantage over its fastback saloon sibling, providing a wide boot aperture.
