Design
The exterior design of the Model Y Performance builds upon the familiar silhouette of the standard Model Y, incorporating specific visual upgrades that denote its performance status. At the front, the smooth front bumper features discrete intakes, while the lighting signature benefits from matrix LED headlights. The profile is defined by flush pop-out door handles, blacked-out exterior window trim, and model-exclusive 21-inch Überturbine alloy wheels housed within pronounced wheel arches exposing red-painted multi-piston performance brakes. Lowered suspension drops the overall ride height by around 15mm, giving the vehicle a broader, more planted stance on the road. Interior
Inside, the cabin stays true to Tesla's ultra-minimalist design, centered entirely around a single 15-inch landscape touchscreen positioned in the middle of the dash. Upfront, standard heated seats are trimmed in vegan synthetic leather with default black or optional white upholstery, framed by carbon fibre dashboard trim exclusive to the Performance model. The central console incorporates twin wireless smartphone charging pads, deep storage bins, and cupholders. Driving dynamics are sharpened via dedicated chassis tuning, including stiffer springs, retuned dampers, beefier anti-roll bars, and a specialized Track Mode that allows drivers to adjust handling balance, stability control intervention, and regenerative braking strength. Maximum DC rapid charging speed reaches 250 kW via Tesla Superchargers, allowing a 10 to 80% charge in roughly 25 minutes.
Practicality
Despite its extreme performance, the Model Y Performance retains all the practical storage benefits of the standard vehicle. The interior seats five adults comfortably, benefiting from a flat cabin floor that ensures generous footwell space for center-seat passengers. The rear seat bench features a 40/20/40 split-folding backrest that can be folded electronically via levers located inside the boot. Boot capacity is exceptional for a crossover, offering 854 litres of cargo space behind the second row, expanding to 2,158 litres with the rear seats folded completely flat. A deep frunk provides an additional 117 litres of storage up front.

The specification level is comprehensive as standard, leaving very few optional extras beyond exterior paint finishes, white interior upholstery, and driver-assistance software upgrades. Standard equipment includes 21-inch Überturbine wheels, performance brakes, carbon fibre spoiler, lowered suspension, heat pump, power tailgate, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, and standard Autopilot driver assistance. Optional upgrades include Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving Capability software packages. The EV Hub recommended configuration has to be the single Model Y Performance trim.
