Overview
The Lotus Emeya is an all-electric four-door hyper-GT designed to compete directly with ultra-luxury performance saloons such as the Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT, and Polestar 5. Representing a major step in the reinvention of Lotus under parent company Geely, the Emeya transitions the brand from a niche lightweight sports car manufacturer into a global luxury EV maker. Built on the bespoke 800V Electric Premium Architecture shared with the Eletre SUV, the Emeya combines low-slung, aerodynamic proportions with cutting-edge technology and immense electric performance.
Design
Measuring 5,139 mm in length, the Emeya embraces an aggressive yet sleek aesthetic inspired by the Evija hypercar. Its cab-forward silhouette, short bonnet, and 3,069 mm wheelbase maximize aerodynamic efficiency and interior space. Active aerodynamic features are integrated throughout, including an active front grille, an active rear diffuser, and a dual-layer active rear spoiler that generates up to 215 kg of downforce at speed. Sculpted body panels incorporate carbon-fibre detailing alongside ultra-slim LED daytime running light signatures, while deployable lidars and camera-based side mirrors highlight its high-tech driver assistance hardware.
Interior
Inside, the cabin prioritises luxury materials, minimal physical controls, and high-end digital integration. Sustainable material choices include regenerated nylon thread, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and repurposed cotton thread from the fashion industry. The dashboard features a central 15.1-inch OLED touchscreen running the Lotus Hyper OS, paired with slim 12.6-inch digital strip displays for both the driver and front passenger. Drivers also benefit from a massive 55-inch projected augmented-reality head-up display. Acoustic comfort is enhanced by noise-cancelling technology in the wheel arches, while audio is delivered via a 15-speaker KEF system.
Performance & Powertrains
Every Emeya uses a 102kWh battery paired with an advanced 800V architecture. The entry Emeya 600 models feature dual permanent magnet synchronous motors delivering 603 hp and 710 Nm of torque, achieving 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Range for the 600 series is rated up to 379 miles. The flagship Emeya 900 ups performance to 905 hp and 985 Nm of torque by adding a twin-speed rear gearbox, cutting the 0-62 mph sprint to 2.8 seconds and boosting top speed to 159 mph, with a range of up to 301 miles. Charging is among the fastest of any production EV, supporting DC rapid charging speeds up to 402 kW to replenish 10% to 80% capacity in 14 minutes. Dual-chamber active air suspension and rear-wheel steering are also available to maintain agility.
Practicality
Despite its sleek saloon profile, the Emeya functions as a practical hatchback-style liftback. Rear luggage space stands at 509 litres with the rear seats in place, expanding to 1,388 litres when they're folded down. A small frunk provides an additional 34 litres of storage, ideal for charging cables. Passenger space is generous in both 4-seat executive and 5-seat layouts thanks to the elongated wheelbase. Rear passengers enjoy an 8-inch touchscreen console to control seating functions, climate, and media setup.
Buying
Prices for the Lotus Emeya range start from £84,990 for the standard entry-level Emeya 600, rising through mid-tier GT, and GT SE to £104,990 for the top-spec 600 Sport SE. The 900 series can be had for either £129,990 or £139,990 depending on the Carbon package. Standard equipment across the lineup is comprehensive, including active air suspension, matrix LED lights, heat pump, and four-zone climate control. The EV Hub recommended configuration is the Emeya 600. It's the feature-rich entry providing maximum range whilst still offering a dynamic and engaging driving experience without the steep price of the high-end models.
