Overview

The Genesis GV90 will arrive as the ultra-luxury flagship electric SUV from South Korea's premium brand, specifically designed to challenge established European heavyweights like the BMW iX and the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. Positioned at the absolute peak of the Hyundai Motor Group hierarchy, this full-size, three-row luxury vehicle builds upon the brand's reputation for distinctive elegance and high-end tech, aiming to redefine executive-class electric mobility with a distinct focus on experiential luxury.

Design

The exterior design of the GV90 draws heavily from the dramatic Neolun concept with the signature Genesis Two Lines split-lighting signature that wraps around the front. Its imposing proportions stretch to roughly 5,200 mm in length with an extensive 3,200 mm wheelbase. A highly anticipated styling choice for top-tier variants is a pillarless coach doors, eliminating the traditional B-pillar to open up the entire side of the vehicle. Lower configurations will adopt conventional front-hinged doors, but all models retain the clean surfacing, thin micro lens headlamps, and aerodynamic lines typical of the brand's aesthetic.

Interior

Inside, the GV90 serves as a showcase for absolute executive luxury and tech. The dashboard is dominated by a massive 25-inch OLED display running advanced next-generation software. Premium materials and bespoke quilted leather coat almost every surface, complemented by dual-color ambient lighting that syncs with the vehicle's speed. Exceptional comfort features include door armrest heaters and an innovative radiant heating system inspired by traditional Korean underfloor heating. Top-tier editions are expected to offer flexible seating configurations, including swivel executive chairs that create a face-to-face lounge environment.

Performance & Powertrains

Built upon the advanced new eM platform, a highly sophisticated successor to the E-GMP architecture, the GV90 will benefit from an 800V electrical system and a massive 113kWh battery pack. This capacity is projected to deliver an impressive range approaching 490 miles on a single charge. Charging from 10% to 80% will take approximately 20 minutes when connected to a 350 kW ultra-rapid DC charger. The powertrain lineup will feature standard AWD with triple-motors, pairing a dominant rear motor with dual smaller front-axle motors to produce a combined output exceeding 600 hp. Air suspension and active rear-wheel steering will be standard to ensure supreme ride comfort and surprising agility. It will also debut a wireless battery management system to optimize cell efficiency and reduce internal wiring.

Practicality

As a dedicated full-size 3-row flagship, passenger space will be prioritized to ensure extensive legroom and headroom across all rows. Storage is going to be highly flexible, offering generous boot capacity even with all 3 rows in place, expanding significantly when the rear rows are electronically folded flat. Clever internal cubbies, door pockets, and a flat floor layout maximize everyday storage capacity, while the lack of a traditional B-pillar on coach-door models will deliver unprecedented entry access for rear passengers.

Buying

Current price estimates suggest the Genesis GV90 will start from approximately £80,000 to £85,000 for standard models, with ultra-exclusive editions potentially exceeding £110,000. The global reveal is anticipated in the final months of 2026, with the first customer deliveries expected in early 2027.
