While the original Polestar 4 Coupe raised eyebrows by omitting the rear window, the newly launched Polestar 4 SUV reinstates the glass at the rear while adopting a straighter roofline and redesigned tailgate. Slotting between the smaller Polestar 2 and the larger Polestar 3, the Polestar 4 SUV enters the competitive premium executive electric crossover class. Built on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture, it directly targets rivals such as the Audi A6 Avant e-tron, BMW i5 Touring, and Zeekr 7GT. Manufactured in Busan, South Korea, this new family-focused variant combines high-end electric range, cutting-edge software integration, and estate-car practicality with AWD electric performance.
Design
Visually, the Polestar 4 SUV builds upon the sleek, sharp geometric styling of the Coupe while introducing key changes to maximize usability and space. The front profile retains the distinctive dual-blade LED headlights, flush pop-out door handles, frameless side mirrors, and crisp aerodynamic surfaces. The visual transformation occurs from the C-pillar backwards, where a higher, straighter roofline flows into a redesigned upright tailgate. Integrated roof rails are come as standard, expanding functionality by providing a dynamic roof load capacity of up to 100 kg. Polestar offers an expanded exterior color palette featuring eight shades, including finishes like Aurora silver-green and Ozone silver-purple in a matte clear-coat. The cabin of the Polestar 4 SUV blends minimalist Scandinavian design with intuitive technology and sustainable materials. A central 15.4-inch landscape touchscreen runs on Android Automotive OS, enhanced by Google Gemini for natural, conversational voice commands. A 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display keep driver information directly in the line of sight. Rear passenger comfort is enhanced by the straighter roofline, which yields an additional 2.5cm of headroom over the Coupe. A expansive panoramic glass roof extends all the way to the rear tailgate, creating an exceptionally bright atmosphere, with optional electrochromic glass allowing segment-by-segment tint adjustment. Interior illumination is inspired by the solar system with nine selectable ambient light themes. Sustainable material choices include standard bio-attributed MicroTech made with 100% recycled PET backing, 3D-knitted Tailored Knit upholstery made from recycled PET, and welfare-traceable Bridge of Weir Nappa leather.

The entry-level Long Range Single Motor model uses a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque. The flagship Long Range Dual Motor model adds an electric motor to the front axle for AWD, boosting total system output to 544 hp and 686 Nm of torque. It covers 0-62 mph in a rapid 3.9 seconds, offering a range of up to 373 miles. High-speed DC rapid charging up to 200 kW allows a 10-80% battery top-up in 30 minutes. Chassis components feature retuned damping to balance ride comfort with sharp, engaging body control. The Vehicle-to-Load system supplies up to 3.3 kW of external AC power to appliances, complemented by a dedicated in-car Camping Mode that maintains climate control while parked.

Luggage capacity improves over the Coupe model with the boot storage at 655 litres. Folding the 60/40 split-folding rear seats flat expands total rear cargo capacity to 1,665 litres.
